The Archdiocesan Council of the OCA Archdiocese of Canada held their fall meeting in Montreal at Sts Peter & Paul Cathedral on Friday and Saturday, November 3-4. Several of the Council members stayed after the meeting and chose to visit The Sign for Sunday morning Liturgy. They included: Fr Larry Reinheimer from St Peter the Aleut parish in Calgary, Alberta, Fr Lawrence Farley from St Herman of Alaska parish in Surrey (Langley), British Columbia, Mother Sophia from Toronto and Fr Cyprian Hutcheon, our longtime member who left this summer to become the Rector of Holy Resurrection in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This was Fr Cyprian's first visit back at The Sign since moving to Saskatoon.
As has become the annual tradition at The Sign on the Sunday closest to the Feast of Sts Cosmas and Damian (Nov 1), at the conclusion of the Liturgy there was a special prayer and blessing of all those present who work in the Healing professions: doctors, nurses, researchers, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, etc.
